ARTISTS STATEMENT

Women (and all people to some extent) are forever being told how to look, behave, talk, act, feel and think. Why should I have to be a passive object? Why should I be 'beautiful'? Why shouldn't I say what I want to? Why can't I feel and show my anger at degrading images of Women and misogynous behaviour? Why does my body have to be erotic/sexy? As a viewer, do you consider the way your attention is being manipulated? Do you understand that EVERY image has been constructed? I hope my folio makes you think twice about what you're fed and challenges your prejudices/preconceptions - it's impossible to say everything I want to but I think it goes a little way into explaining my state of mind during the shoot.
