concept appreciation

Hi y'all, I have recently been introduced to ISM, and the whole concept truly blows my mind. The Cynic in me holds that there may well be folks viewing this site as porn, poring over tottie and wanking furtive little lives away. Ah well, ya get that. HOWEVER, viewing these remarkable, candid, intensely personal folios, saturated with such incredible character, individuality, and real-ness is an experience that porn never offers. Ladies, wow. As a woman offered the opportunity to submit a folio of my own, I can only say that the process of capturing my own candid, individual Self has been the best ever afternoon I have ever spent alone with my own Beauty.  Being able to participate in the project allows an appreciation of the concept that goes so far beyond simply enjoying the folios, which brings me to my final point; I wonder what males would do with the medium? I wonder if expressions of the glory that is the male form would be interesting. And would they find the experience as enjoyable as we do? Not a suggestion, merely a moment of ponderment.

I agree with your sentiments entirely. Yes, there may well be the odd "wanker" out there but that's true of any walk of life.
I raised the point of the male form being presented this way a while ago but it seems that the concensus of opinion is against us. I accept that it is much more difficult for the male to present himself in this way, unless he is lucky enough to have a perfect body, that can be shot from any angle. Sadly, mine no longer fits that bill!
It is easy for a female to shoot herself naked without innuendo (unless intended) but this is not so easy for a male subject focussed, as most are, on their masculinity.
That may be a contentious statement but, if it is - I can live with it.

I raised the point of the male form being presented this way a while ago but it seems that the concensus of opinion is against us. I am interested in your statement that men may not be able to go past their masculinity (their genitalia?),  and that is where my thoughts began. I suspect it could sell the guys short a bit. I appreciate the political statement of ISM, as being an outlet for women of themselves, I thought it so excellent, and stimulating, that the mind couldn't help but wander and consider how the Other Mob would express, if given the opportunity to do so. I would challenge your idea that 'perfect body'  standards would have to apply. I find the ISM concept simply allows participants to show off the perfection that is everyone of us. As I mentioned, I love the soul, and the character, and personality present in the folios. Naked flesh can be got anywhere, this offers so much more, beyond that narrow contraint of 'perfect body'....In fact, Belgareth, maybe for your own amusement, you should grab a cam and have fun one afternoon yourself? hehehe....Anyhoo....I'm off to go wank...I mean, contemplate the Beauty.

OK, maybe not a perfect body but all I was doing was interpreting a statement made in this forum on tthe same subject. The response from a female contributor was "you have to get a pretty specific body type to enjoy looking at him". For my own amusement, I have already done as you suggested - believe me the images are not a patch on what this site has got on offer . Trying to find photogenic bits of me is not the easiest thing in the world but it was fun trying ;-)

OK, maybe not a perfect body but all I was doing was interpreting a statement made in this forum on tthe same subject. The response from a female contributor was "you have to get a pretty specific body type to enjoy looking at him". For my own amusement, I have already done as you suggested - believe me the images are not a patch on what this site has got on offer . Trying to find photogenic bits of me is not the easiest thing in the world but it was fun trying ;-)

I can honestly say I have never wanked to anything I have seen on this site, but you made me stop now and wonder, why not?  The conclusion I came to(no pun intended), is that the material found here never makes me want to come, but rather makes me want to explore my girlfriends body.  Not that I needed the incentive to begin with

Damn me! It seems that there is some, slightly more that coincidental, connection between ISM and BA. Both sites are very sensual and beautiful but it would degrade them to view them as sexual. Which of the BA posts are yours - I would like to place the beauty in the eye of this beholder ;-)

At the risk of getting shot in more ways than one - let me have an email address and you can have a preview (well maybe the only view) of my photographic efforts. I'd welcome a private opinion - or at the very least it will give you something to laugh about :-))

I would hope that you haven't found anything on this site that arouses you in that way! It would defeat the object of the sites existance. As I said previously, this site is sensual, so I am not surprised that you turn to exploring in that way.

I have not found anything here that is anything but artistic. I for one love the form of the female body through photography. I would do no other, given the choice. It is so clean and honest. When you cross the line from sensual to erotic, it cheapens it. The shooting of ones self adds an aspect that furthers it. I would reccomend this to any of my past models.
