In the beginning

Apologies if this has been covered before in an old thread, but I wonder how much ISM was originally inspired by Natacha Merritt's "Digital Diaries".  The concept seems very similar.  I can just imagine some bright spark (i.e. not me) "reading" Natacha's book and thinking: "Hey! What if I created a web site where lots of young attractive women take digital photos of themselves and publish them on the Internet?".  I only wish I'd thought of it when I bought a copy of the book a couple of years ago.  I remember thinking: how come a young attractive American woman can idly take pictures of herself and her friends naked and then make a lot of money out of it by publishing the pictures in a book?  Jammy or what!?

So my question to those in the know is: did "Digital Diaries" inspire the initial concept for ISM?
