Why ISM is getting better

At least we think it is!

When we first started out 2 years ago with the credo of one new folio per day, we knew it meant a lot of hard work spruiking for folios and a whole lot of stress about whether we'd ever run out of new contributors.  We started putting the word around about 6 months before the site was launched, so we had enough folios then to see us through for at least 2 months - and, if all went to plan, the site would generate enough interest among broadminded ladies that the folios would roll in.

And they did.  But being a stress-head as I am, I still feared the day the clock rolled over at midnight and there'd be no new folio there, so we've never relaxed in our quest to get more contributions to ISM.  And we've (almost) never turned away a folio (though often we ask for some reshoots due to bad light &c.)  We have found, to our joy, that a large percentage of folios are coming from friends (or sisters) of other contributors - which is why the artists seem to come from concentrated pockets like Melbourne (where we're based), the northwest of USA, and a few other cities.

And so happily, we have so many folios that we're currently 4 months ahead.  Artists are emailing us wanting to know why their set isn't up yet.  And still, they are coming in thick and fast.

So a few weeks ago I decided to get a little vicious with the selection process, and a lot of the folios in the queue have been syphoned off to the Overloads department.  To the artists involved, I'd like to say this isn't necessarily a reflection on your skills or your cuteness, and you'll be well adored by the Extra members - but the standard is high and there aren't enough days in the year to feature every folio.  And if you don't make it into Overload either, you're welcome to resubmit your folio and can still make a Primary.

We're also inviting more Reloads, thanks to those who are using the Vote button.  Nearly all the Artists who make the top-10 have been contacted and have done, or are doing, second or third folios, and videos.

The folios which make Primary are those where the artist has thrown herself into the Project and obviously enjoyed the process.  The diversity won't suffer - primary folios will still feature all types and ages (please, let's have some more submissions from the over-30's!) but you'll see less folios compromised by bad light, focus, or lack of enthusiasm.  There will still be art, and there will still be porn - it will just be better, on average.  And of course cuteness counts too, however you might define it.  Confidence and a sense of fun, I say.

So we hope you all dig the high(er) standards on the site, and if you have any suggestions or comments about this new policy, fire away.  Oh and what to do with the 300+ Overload folios we don't have space for!

Re: Why ISM is getting better

You guys seem to know what you are doing.  So I leave it to your judgement.  I'm a photog and have enough trouble just trying to find models.  Even for pay.
One oddity that I've always puzzled over is that my best, most crteative models have been for free.  Just girls wanting to test themselves.  Girls trying to be creative.  The paid models are a crap shoot.  Some are great,  some are medicore,  some were disasters.
Whatever formula you select,  you have a winner here.  I look to another amateur site "Hot or Not" and their success.  Other copycat sites don't do as well. Even ones like "Rate My Rack".  What ever business model you choose,  you seem to have the knack.  Oh,  and my hats off to the Melbourne and down under girls.  You are doing great.

I tend to agree with SCSI -- you are doing a great job Head!  I've been racking my brain for almost 24 hours to come up with some additions to the site, but you have nailed it.  Sexy, erotic, artistic and well organized.  It amazes me how you haven't really done any major changes to the makeup of the site in 2 years.  I remember when there was only 1 folio a day (I've been lurking since the beginning!), but other than adding the additional 'reload' every 12 hours, there haven't been any changes *needed*.

I guess what I'm saying is, thank you Head & Company -- and keep up the good work!

P.S. If I come up with any suggestions from my little pea-sized brain, I'll certainly post!

Damn, I already have trouble keeping up with all these lovely ladies, please don't post more! On the other hand, I just added a 200Gb harddisk to my machine, so maybe you should just sent me those 300+ folios :-)

Just keep up the good work!

Bravo. ISM is the best site of its kind I've seen, and it's good to hear it's only getting better. Keep up the good work.

And I second the call for more over-30s. I've found that sets from contributors over a particular age (around the mid-to-late-20s or so, give or take a few years) often have a degree of individuality and sensuality that many younger contributors lack, and which can be very sexy and beautiful.
