ARTISTS STATEMENT

I've already experimented with public nudity and sex and wanted to reconnect with something more personal and intimate for this project. I shot with objects that are significant to me either spiritually (my Dia de los Muertos skulls and candles), physically (food) or emotionally (objects and gifts I've collected from friends and my personal travels). I centered my body and my sexuality around these personal items to add another level of intimacy to things that are already close to my heart. I feel that these objects and my positions represent my connection to my culture and my attempt to nurture and honor that connection, history and color.
