ARTISTS STATEMENT

I love to get behind the camera, so the opportunity to be the subject and the photographer interested me. I am an admirer of the artist Salvador Dali and found that some of my body shots drew parallels to much of his figurative style of painting, where lengthened limbs sprawled the frame. The perfection of physical beauty is entirely subjective. The endless variety of subjective desire is narrowed by infinite diversity of physical form. The camera captures physical beauty in an instant freezing it in time for all to gaze at. The project left me feeling empowered, as I controlled how my body was portrayed as both the artist and the subject!
